Donald Judd Inspired Dining Table

Originally from Texas, the client, having worked in art her entire career, has a special affinity for the artist Donald Judd who lived and worked in Marfa, Texas. Primarily known for his minimalist sculpture, Judd also designed a series of furniture, primarily from plywood. The design brief was to adapt one of Judd’s classic desk designs to a functional dining table for her London home. Due to narrow access to the space, the top had to be removable from the base. To solve this, it was necessary to design and fabricate custom solid brass brackets, which add a little flare to an otherwise understated piece of furniture. Designed and fabricated in collaboration with London based sculptor and designer, Samuel Adams.
